An Employment Law Attorney that is on Your Side

Handling ERISA Violations

Federal law provides many protections to people who receive pensions and other benefits through their employer. Under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, or ERISA, you have a right to expect that your retirement benefits and health care plans will be administered properly by your employer. ERISA also gives you protection from improper denials of insurance coverage.

Coverage denials are especially common in cases involving long-term disability. Patients often rely upon these benefits to help them pay for their ongoing medical bills; denials, therefore, can be devastating.

In some situations an employee may be discriminated against based on their sex, race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, age, handicap, or marital status. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 as well as the Florida Civil Rights Act prohibits workplace discrimination. You may not be discriminated against in any aspect of your employment including but not limited to hiring, firing, pay, job assignments, promotions, layoffs, training, and/or fringe benefits. You may be entitled to monetary benefits if we can prove that your employer has discriminated against you.
